Hello and welcome to the blog!
I’m Ronak – a lawyer turned full-time farmer, born and brought up in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. I’m here to share real, practical, and firsthand insights into avocado, guava, and dragon fruit farming in India. If you’re someone looking to break into commercial fruit farming or are just curious about life on the land, you’re in the right place.
But let me rewind a bit and tell you how it all began.
A Legal Start and a Rooted Passion
After completing my law degree from Jindal Global University in 2018, I practiced law professionally for five years. While I was in the courtroom during the week, my weekends were spent in the fields. Agriculture has always been part of my family’s life, and even as I built my legal career, I found myself drawn more and more to the farm.
In 2018, I took my first real step toward commercial farming by planting a guava orchard. That small decision quietly sparked a shift. What began as a side interest gradually grew into a deep-rooted passion.
By 2023, after much planning and preparation, I transitioned fully into farming, dedicating myself full-time to the land and produce. That same year, I planted my first avocado orchard — and shortly after, in 2024 I planted my Dragon Fruit orchard and now I am planting my second Avocado Orchard.
Why Avocados, Guavas, and Dragon Fruit?
These crops aren’t just trendy or high-value — they’re future-ready. India’s climate, when paired with the right techniques and planning, is incredibly suitable for these fruits. Each one offers a unique balance of nutrition, market demand, and long-term profitability.
Guavas were my starting point, and they taught me about resilience and consistency. Dragon fruit, with its striking looks and robust health benefits, was the next bold step. And avocados — the so-called “green gold” — were a leap of faith inspired by research, networking with experts, and market analysis.
This blog is not just a journal of what happens on my farm. It’s a resource for anyone who wants to make informed decisions in fruit farming — especially if you’re considering the switch from urban careers to rural opportunities.
